Karen A. Gan (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Karen Anne Gan, daughter of Donald and Sue Ann Mertz Winchester, was born March 22, 1969, in St. Louis, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, October 9, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of forty-five years, six months, and seventeen days.
On November 28, 2009, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Wayne Gan, and they shared the last four years.
Her father preceded her in death.
Karen is survived by her husband, Jimmy, of the home; her mother, Sue Winchester, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Steven Winchester, and his wife, Susie, of St. Louis, Missouri; a niece, Ava Winchester; her maternal grandmother, Katherine Riggs, and her husband, Clifford, of St. Louis, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the St. Louis area and then lived in various locations around the city for several years. She was employed by Apple Tree Answering Service for fourteen years. After she and Jimmy were married, they moved to Lebanon and made their home. Karen had worked in the call center at Cackle Hatchery in Lebanon.
Karen had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Porter Chapel Church near Competition, Missouri.
She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team and also liked to watch NASCAR. She enjoyed nature and was very fond of butterflies. She loved keeping in touch with her family and was especially close to her niece, Ava.
Karen was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
