Karen L. Iseman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Karen L. Iseman, daughter of Fred and Eva Phillips Hootman, was born March 26, 1941, in Keosauqua, Iowa. She departed this life Monday, December 16, 2019, in Colonial Springs Nursing Home, in Buffalo, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, eight months, and twenty-one days.
On November 15, 1958, she was united in marriage to Homer L. Iseman, and to this union three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bill, Robert, and Charles Hootman; and a sister, Delores Ford.
Karen is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Homer, of the home; three sons, Tony Iseman, and his wife, Brenda, of Lebanon, Missouri, Bill Iseman, and his wife, Ann, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Rick Iseman, and his wife, Deanne, of Mobile, Alabama; eight grandchildren; two-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Hootman, of Harrisburg, South Dakota; two sisters, Dixie Myers, of Fairfield, Iowa, and Peggy Hoover, of Warsaw, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Iowa, and continued to make her home there after she and Homer were married. She was a devoted homemaker and loving mother throughout the years. The family then made their home in Missouri for the last thirty years. They lived in Climax Springs and then moved to the Lebanon area. Karen had worked for Modern Manufacturing Company and for Marathon Electric, which is now Regal-Beloit.
In her spare time she was an avid reader, and enjoyed baking. She loved to be outdoors and enjoyed woodworking. She was very down to earth and always put her family before herself. She was a very caring person who was eager to help those in need. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a good friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she made for them during her
A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Foundation and may be left at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
