Karen Joyce Thomas (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Karen Joyce Thomas, daughter of Wilburn Edward “Dugar” and Leona Iline Burch Wilson, was born March 16, 1963, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, June 14, 2012, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of forty-nine years, two months, and twenty-eight days.
On June 2, 1984, she was united in marriage to Danny Lynn Thomas, and they shared the last twenty-eight years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dennis Wilson; a sister, Georgia Dennison; a niece, Amanda Alexander; and her best friend, Melissa Steinmark.
Karen is survived by her husband, Danny, of the home; three sisters, Janice Alexander, and her husband, Roy, of Richland, Missouri, Brenda Kentner, and her husband, Junior, and Karmen Wilson, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon area, near the Crossroads community. After she and Danny were married, they made their home near Lebanon. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband, Karen had also done babysitting for several years.
Karen had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Sunnyview Freewill Baptist Church, near Lebanon.
She liked horses and enjoyed collecting horse figurines. She liked riding four-wheelers and enjoyed visiting with people at the local Wal Mart. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor, a distinctive voice and loved to laugh. She was very outgoing and friendly and never met a stranger. Her family was very important to her and she and her sisters spent many special times together.
Karen was a loving wife, sister, and cousin, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
