Karen Leimkuehler (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Karen Lynn (Everhart) Leimkuehler, 59, of Halfway, Missouri went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 3, 2017. She passed in the comfort of her own home after her battle with cancer. Karen was born March 19, 1957, in Louisville, KY, to Doris E. (Martin) Everhart and Arthur C. Everhart. Karen graduated Van Horn HS, Independence, MO, in 1975. She also attended UMKC. Karen married the love of her life, Roger D. Leimkuehler on November 29, 1986.
Karen was a passionate follower of Jesus Christ, always ready to share His love to all she met.
Her family was her priority, and Karen ended her business career to invest her life as a home school teacher to her and Roger's two sons, Caleb and Caulen. Her efforts helped mold them into the outstanding young men that they are today. She was extremely proud of Caleb's dedication to become a law enforcement officer, and of Caulen's perseverance to become a CPA.
Karen looked for beauty all around; as an inspired artist, she was always creating it through paintings, stained glass, and photography. Karen was always singing and loved sharing her musical talent. She was an active participant of her churches' choirs and worship teams since her junior high years.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Art and Doris.
She is survived by her husband Roger, son Caleb and his wife Chelsey and two grandchildren, Libby and Braxton; son Caulen and his wife Melissa. Also surviving are sisters Cari Everhart and Wende Everhart Woolley.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, on Monday, March 6, 2017, at the Mt Comfort Church, Springfield, MO.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at the Mt Comfort Church, Springfield, MO, with burial at Mt. Comfort Cemetery to immediately follow the funeral.
