On September 8, 1973, Karen was united in marriage to Ronald J. Valentine at Rickenbacker Air Force Base, near Columbus, Ohio, and to this union, two daughters were born. Together they shared nearly forty-four years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her father and her mother. She is survived by her husband, Ron of Camdenton, Missouri; daughter, Kelli A. Kadavy and husband Dale, grandchildren, Ryan and Katie of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter, Kimberly V. Little and husband Joel, grandchildren, Aaron and Kinley of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Sister, Kathy Caggiano and husband Vince of North Canton, Ohio; as well as a host of In-Laws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends.
Karen grew up in Struthers Ohio and graduated from Struthers High School as proud member of the Class of ‘63. She studied physical education two years at Kent State University. As a new Air Force wife she and her family lived in Merced California 4 years before their transfer to Offutt AFB, Bellevue, Nebraska where she and Ron resided for nearly 38 years. She was thrilled to travel with Ron while in the Air Force to distant places in Iceland, England, Germany, and Spain. She had a very rewarding career as a Certified Optician and optical sales manager at Bellevue Optical for 26 years. After retiring in 2011 Karen and Ron spent much time at their vacation condominium at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, eventually selling their Nebraska home moving there as primary residents in 2016. Karen was very loving wife, mother and grandmother who treasured all the wonderful times she shared with her family and friends boating on the Missouri River, annual vacations to Lake Okoboji, Iowa and then living at their lake condominium. She was an amazingly faithful and prayerful Christian woman. She touched the hearts and souls of so many with her zest for life and love of family and friends. We celebrate her life and many accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Camdenton, Missouri.
