Karla May Stoner (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Karla May Stoner, daughter of Don and Kay Harvey Watts, was born August 18, 1961, in Iowa City, Iowa. She departed this life Friday, August 7, 2020, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-eight years, eleven months, and nineteen days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Melissa Stewart; and a granddaughter, Salena Stewart.
Karla is survived by two daughters, Peggy “JoJo” Strawn, and her husband, Curtis, of Waynesville, Missouri, and Sarah Stewart, and her fiancé, Darin Briley, of Buffalo, Missouri; a son, Larry Stewart, of Lebanon, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Kalissa, Triston, Auston, Kalena, Breanna, Kodee, Kenny, and Bruin; two brothers, Dennis Bittner, of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Kenny Bittner, of Marshallton, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa where she graduated from high school. She moved to Lebanon in 1986, and worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at Lebanon Care Center until becoming disabled. She was always a devoted homemaker to her family.
Karla had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Pentecostal faith. She was a member of Grace Calvary Church in Lebanon.
She loved writing poetry and short stories, playing Bingo and the lottery. She possessed a good sense of humor, had a heart of gold and was always very giving. She loved her family dearly and made them the center of her life. She was looking forward to two great-grandbabies that are on the way this year.
Karla was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
There will be a Visitation Wednesday evening, Aug. 12, from 6- 7:30 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. A memorial has been established.
Arrangements are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
