Katherine Woods (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Katherine Coralee Woods was born June 8, 1956 in Ft. Riley, Kansas to Walter and Grace Rose Jones. She passed away in her home in Lebanon, Missouri on Sunday, August 10, 2025. She was sixty-nine years, two months and four days of age.
Katherine was raised in the Iberia and Crocker, Missouri areas and following her education, lived in Camdenton much of her life. In 1980, she moved to Lebanon, Missouri and was employed at KLWT radio for twenty-two years. Katherine was also was employed at Mid-Am Dairy until it closed and then joined Landau Boats for over twenty years.
On March 27, 1981, Katherine was united in marriage to Kenneth B. Woods. They celebrated over twenty-two years of marriage until Kenneth passed away on November 26, 2003.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Grace Jones; her loving husband, Kenneth; and her sisters, Sandy Testa and Kaylyn Lewis.
Katherine is survived by her daughter, Mellissa Brotherton and her husband Kevin of Lebanon, Missouri; her son, Jason Woods of Phillipsburg, Missouri; her grandchildren, Seth Woods, Hannah Woods, Dustin Brotherton and Dakoda Brotherton, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Jordan Brotherton of Springfield, Missouri; Kason Woods, Alyson Garfit and her husband Chase of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Eddie Vaughn and his wife Taylor of Lebanon, Missouri, and Josh Hollingsworth and his wife Taylor of Holt Summit, Missouri; her sisters, Elsie Purdue and her husband Johnny of Dixon, Missouri, Karla Leistikow and her husband Rick of Lebanon, Missouri, and Mitzi Todd and her husband Ronald of Phillipsburg, Missouri; her brother, Preston Jones and his wife Sandy of Concord, California; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Katherine accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was thirty years old and was baptized on July 6, 1986. She taught Sunday School for several years. Katherine made it a point to tell others about Jesus.
In her spare time, Katherine liked playing kickball, camping, hunting, fishing and watching car racing. She also enjoyed reading her Bible.
Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. They were so very special to her.
Katherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her encouraging and supportive nature was rooted firmly in her Christian faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral service for Katherine Woods will be at noon on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Holman- Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
