Kathryn R. Moore (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Kathryn Rose Moore, daughter of Kermit and Hazel Schrimscher Daniels, was born January 26, 1936, in Webster Groves, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, November 2, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years, nine months, and six days.
On March 15, 1958, she was united in marriage to John Warner Moore, Jr., and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Kathryn is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, John, of the home; a son, John Daniels Moore, and his friend, Margo Davis, of Falcon, Missouri; a daughter, Dr. Kerma Moore, of Keene, New Hampshire; two sisters, Phyllis Thomas, of Ranch Santa Margarita, California, and Carol Duesing, and her husband, Richard, of St. Louis, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the St. Louis area, and was a drum majorette in the Maplewood High School Marching Band. After she and John were married, they made their home in St. Louis and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Kathryn worked for AT&T and then traveled and worked for Cosmic Companies. For fifteen years, she was a real estate agent in the St. Louis area. In the late 1990’s, Kathryn and John moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made their home.
Kathryn professed her faith in Christ and was baptized in 1991, and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
She was a volunteer Pink Lady at Mercy Hospital in Lebanon for several years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and had created beautiful jackets. She liked learning new things and was trying to learn to knit. Always adventurous, she took many trips during which she had ridden a snowmobile, a hot air balloon, and had gone boating. She had a great fondness for her pets and dearly loved her dogs “Cuddle”, “Rasal”, “Jake”, and “Puppy”, but her favorite was “Tiger”, a Cairn Terrier. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her son and daughter.
Kathryn was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
