Kathy Lynn Cook (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Kathy Lynn Cook, daughter of James and Edith Appleberry Flanary, was born September 14, 1958 in Kingman, Kansas. She passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026 in St. Clair, Michigan. She was sixty-seven years, ten months and two days of age.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Flanary, and her daughter, Edith Harris.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Robert Cook of the home; her mother, Edith Flanary of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; her daughter, Mandy Harris of Hartville, Alabama; her son, Richard Harris III of Shelbyville, Tennessee; her step-daughter Becky Ward of Morrison, Indiana; and her step-son, Jeff Cook of Shirley, Indiana; her sisters, Jackie Flanary-Smith, Clinton Township, Michigan, Teresa Flanary-Tocco of Roseville, Michigan; one brother, James Flanary of Clinton Township, Michigan; six grandchildren, Gracie, Wyatt, Zachary, Sammy, D.J., and Faith; and many other family and friends.
Kathy loved our Lord Jesus. During her 3 1/2 years of hospice care she read her Bible all the time and marveled at stories she had heard before but with new revelations. She met weekly with the Hospice Chaplain who said that Kathy challenged him with her questions and inquiries. She loved the book of Psalms and had him read her a chapter every week before she would let him leave. Kathy witnessed to everyone she talked to. Kathy loved her momma, Edith Flanary, and would tell her of the Bible stories she was reading and of course, asking questions about them.
She loved to garden and crocheted throws for everyone. She also enjoyed fishing and camping.
She was the glue and mastermind of family reunions, keeping the family photo albums current. Kathy enjoyed tractor pulls, learning from her husband Bob (Cookie) Cook.
Kathy loved her momma, Edith Flanary and would tell her of the Bible stories she was reading and of course, asking questions about them.
Kathy will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, but will hold tight to the wonderful memories they made with her.
Funeral services for Kathy Cook will be Saturday, July 25 at 10 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park.
