Kathy Scott's Obituary
atherine Lynn Scott, daughter of Kenneth P. and Margaret A. Crawford Begley, was born January 13, 1960, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She departed this life Monday, April 21, 2008, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of forty-eight years, three months, and eight days. On May 6, 2001, she was united in marriage to Kevin B. Scott and together they shared five years before his passing on May 20, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her father; a sister, Deborah Vincentheller; a nephew; and a niece. Kathy is survived by three sons, Christopher Pendergrass, of Nevada, Missouri, Steven Paul Pendergrass, and Daniel Pendergrass, both of Lebanon, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; her mother, Margaret McGuire, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Bruce Begley, of Manford, Oklahoma; six sisters, Lucretia Leetch, of Eldridge, Missouri, Paula Blackburn, Pat Myers, Belinda Stewart, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Sharon Jones, of Bolivar, Missouri, and Carla Marshall, of Manford, Oklahoma; a number of nieces and nephews; her friend and companion, Norman Acklin, of Eldridge, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in the Eldridge, Missouri community and attended Lebanon RIII Schools. She began college in Springfield, Missouri, but stopped to have her family. She worked at the H. D. Lee Company for several years before being a full- time mother, and then later worked in assisted living, helping the elderly. Kathy had attended the Oasis Worship Center in Lebanon. She liked being outdoors where her favorite activity was fishing. She greatly enjoyed the comforts of home and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Kathy was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, in the Hutchison Cemetery, Licking, Missouri. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
