Kathy Layne Shockley (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Kathy Layne Shockley was born January 30, 1957 in Springfield, Missouri, to M.C. and Barbara (Helsley) Coday, and went to be with her Savior, Sunday, April 19, 2026. She was sixty-nine years, two months and twenty days of age.
Kathy grew up in Hartville, Missouri and attended Hartville High School, graduating in the Class of 1975. Following high school, Kathy moved to Lebanon, Missouri where she lived the rest of her life.
In 1987, Kathy married Ronnie Shockley and together they raised three children, Charlie, Katelynne and Ryan.
Kathy loved her family, her animals, attending bluegrass festivals, making music, and popping and selling kettle corn. The kids tell when Kathy had a chore for them to do she would say, “I have a plan and you’re just going to love it.” They didn’t love it. Her smile could light up a room and she had a lot of fun wherever she was.
Kathy loved the Lord and attended Green Hills Free Will Baptist Church.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Hartville High School Class of 1975 and to Pastor Mike Hutsell and his wife Brenda for their amazing and continual support through this very difficult time.
Kathy will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 24, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Russ, Missouri.
