Keith Dale Pyles (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Keith Dale Pyles was born January 27, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri to Loren and Dorothy Pyles. He passed away at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO on Friday, July 21, 2023.
Keith was called to preach at a young age and preached his first sermon at the age of twelve. He began evangelizing full time after graduating Cleveland High School in St. Louis in 1976.
He married the love of his of his life, Sharon Schafer, on May 11th, 1979, and to this union, seven children were born.
Keith evangelized for thirteen years and was Principal at Alpha Christian Academy in Alton, IL, for two years. He served as assistant pastor for three and a half years at Buffalo First Assembly, where in 1995, he was voted in as senior pastor, a ministry he held for 28 years, while his passion continued to grow for world missions. Keith felt called to evangelize the world, traveling to other continents especially Africa.
He loved his family and traveling the US with them. He enjoyed Silver Dollar City as well as family board games including Scrabble and trivia games. Most summers you could find him religiously following the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, and he loved attending games when possible. Throughout his life he enjoyed racquetball, tennis, fishing, and especially golf. He had a beautiful voice and was known for his powerful music ministry as well as the silly songs he sang to his family.
He was proceeded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife Sherry, his seven children: Rachel (& Michael) Worley of Flagstaff, AZ, Amanda (& Kyle) Adams of Whitman, MA, Colleen (& Daniel) Mason of Greensboro, NC, Caleb Pyles of Dalian, China, Lauren (& Chris) Nathan of NY, NY, Alexis Pyles of Portland, OR, and Morgan Pyles of Phoenix, AZ. Also his five grandchildren, Averic Adams, Micah, Hannah, & Abigail Worley & Eliana Mason, his mother, Dorothy Pyles, two sisters, Shelly (& Rick) Daugherty, Bridget (& Randy) Musgrave and aunts & uncles and friends who will all dearly miss him.
Service will be held at Buffalo First Assembly of God church on Thursday, July 27, 2023 with the Rev. Dean Galyen officiating. Visitation will be 1pm-3pm with the funeral at 3pm. Memorials may be made to Buffalo First Assembly of God Church.
