Kelley Lynn Smith's Obituary
Kelley Lynn Smith, daughter of Otis and Betty Meachum Nichols, was born October 22, 1963, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, February 7, 2007, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of forty-three years, three months, and fifteen days. Her father preceded her in death. Kelley is survived by her mother and step-father, Betty Nichols Best and Robert Best, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Freedom Nichols, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Kenneth Nichols, of Springfield, Missouri; two granddaughters, Aaliyah Fisher, and Rayah Nichols; two brothers, Otis Nichols, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Dwayne LaPorte, of the State of Arizona; two sisters, Twanya Nichols, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Rita Lewis, of the State of Florida; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; a special friend, Damon Paxton, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of friends. She was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri, and attended Lebanon High School. She continued to make her home in Lebanon where in addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, she also worked for the Copeland Corporation for eight years. She then moved to Enid, Oklahoma for two years before returning to Lebanon. Kelley was raised in the Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church where she maintained her membership. In her spare time she was an avid reader and also liked watching television. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed having her children around her. Kelley was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church may be made through the funeral home.
