Ken Wood (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Kenneth Eugene Wood was born, May 17, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life, Saturday, September 27, 2014, in his home in Eldridge, Missouri at the age of sixty-six years, four months and ten days.
On October 29, 1966 he was united in marriage to Diane Yvonne Bridgeman and to this union three daughters were born. Together they shared forty-one years of marriage until her passing on March 23, 2008.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Mildred Wood Praxmarer and Jerome Praxmarer.
Survivors include his daughters, Chris Swartzlander and husband Andy of Eldridge, Missouri, Cheryl Taylor and Michael Roper of Camdenton, Missouri and Laura O'Shea of Lebanon, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Anthony Owens, Ashley Hernandez, Jennifer Taylor, Stephanie O’Shea, Michael O’Shea, Timothy O’Shea, Amanda Rogers, Casey Moore, Cody Swartzlander and Justin Swartzlander; twelve great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Ken was raised in Chicago and worked as a meat cutter. He later moved to Round Lake Beach, Illinois and worked in construction. In 1980 he moved to Eldridge, Missouri and worked at Blair Cedar for thirty-three years before retiring.
In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working and gardening.
He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
