Kenneth Baker (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Kenneth Ray Baker, 72, passed away September 4, 2022 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri with his loving wife at his side. Kenneth was born August 18, 1950 to Cletus and Kathryn (Fitzwater) Baker in Decatur, Illinois.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Baker of the home; a sister, Carolyn Wright (Warren) of Big Fork, Minnesota; a brother, Bruce Baker (Pam) of Decatur, Illinois; and a Godson, Alex Johnson of Woodhall, Illinois.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bev Dechaney; and a brother-in-law, Jeff Johnson.
Ken was born in Decatur, Illinois and moved to Colorado in 1979. There he met and fell in love with Lynn and the two were married on July 3, 1988. In 1991 they moved to Missouri and have been here ever since.
Ken loved camping with family and friends and hunting with his buddies, Danny and Sean Benson among others. He was a big fan of Dirt Late Model Racing, especially his favorite #18 Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Illinois. Ken also followed NASCAR and drag racing, always rooting on the Toyotas. He loved going four wheeling in Colorado and organized a group of friends to go with him. They called themselves “The Midnight Riders”.
Visitation will be Monday, September 12 from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Burial will be at a later date in Decatur, Illinois.
Memorial in honor of Kenneth may be made to the American Heart Association.
