Kenneth Charles (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Kenneth Charles, 93, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away July 25, 2018 at Citizens’ Memorial Care Facility.
Kenneth was born to Ray and Edna Charles on March 10, 1925 in Blue Mound, Kansas. He was a quarterback in high school and was also on the track team. He joined the Navy after graduating from Blue Mound High School and worked as a store keeper serving from 1943 to 1946 in Alameda, California. He was also in the Navy reserves and Air Force Reserves.
Kenneth married the love of his life, Annis Osborn, on September 13,1944. They were married 65 years. They lived in Independence, Missouri where they had their three children, Terry, Sharon, and Carolyn.
He worked for Amoco Oil Co. as foreman from 1946 to 1981 when he retired and moved to the Ozarks. He was in the Masonic-Scottish Rite, American Legion and Shrine.
He was a reserve policeman in Independence and was in the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
Kenneth loved fishing, camping and traveling the US with is family. In later years he and his wife spent the winters in Texas in their mobile home. He was quite the builder and was always busy doing something. He had many friends and would give you the shirt off his back.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Annis, his son, Terry, and his brother, Keith Charles. He leaves behind his small family, daughter Sharon Pangborn and son in law Eddie, daughter Carolyn Lusk, grandson Jason Sales and great-granddaughter Brookelynn. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
