Kenneth R. Jones, Sr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Kenneth Ray Jones, Sr., son of Roy F. and Violet C. Adams Jones, was born December 8, 1946, near Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, June 11, 2019, in his home, near Phillipsburg, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, six months, and three days.
On January 2, 2004, he was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Farver, and they shared the last fifteen years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bryan K. Jones; an infant brother, Leroy Jones; and six sisters, an infant, Frances Jones, Betty Paul, Helen Johnson, Ida Shivers, Ruby Perry, and Mildred Blanton.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home; four daughters, Cheryl Jackson, and her husband, Kevin, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Christina Kirkpatrick, and her husband, Brent, of Belleville, Kansas, Heather Carey, of Lebanon, Missouri, and April West, of Jefferson City, Missouri; two sons, Kenneth R. Jones, Jr., of Belleville, Kansas, and D. J. Carey, and his wife, Vicki, of Lebanon, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Patton, of Conway, Missouri, Marie Hensen, and Maxine Caudle, both of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and attended Lebanon R-III Schools. He then lived most of his life near Lebanon, where he worked as a bus driver for the Lebanon R-III Schools for a number of years. He also owned and operated a farm through the years.
Ken was raised in the Freewill Baptist faith and later became non-denominational. He enjoyed music and especially gospel music and was particularly fond of gospel quartets.
He enjoyed playing table games, dominos, and loved cheating to win. He enjoyed raising and watching animals and taking care of his garden. He also liked collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. His family was very important to him and he liked spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
