He departed this life Thursday, June 16, 2011, in St. John?s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, six months, and twenty-two days. On July 2, 1960, he was united in marriage to Ida M. Phippenney, and to this union two daughters and one son were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two infant twin brothers. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Ida, of the home; two daughters, Lisa Annette Rainey, and her husband, Victor, of Richland, Missouri, and Lori Nanette Rogers, and her husband, David, of Mandeville, Louisiana; a son, Kevin Dwight Perkins, and his wife, Kimberly R., of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Kendra, Travis, Codey, Kendal, Jason, Marissa, Luke, and Mattie; two great-grandchildren, Masyn, and Berlynn; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and graduated from Stoutland High School. He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. Cascade for part of his tour of duty. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he returned home to the family farm, which he helped operate with his parents. Later, following his marriage to Ida, they took over the family farm which they operated for many years. In addition to being a dedicated farmer and stockman, Kenneth also was an over-the-road truck driver, and worked at Mid-America Dairy for several years. Kenneth had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Later in his life, he attended Grace Baptist Church. Although farming was always his central interest, he greatly enjoyed riding motorcycles. Through the years, he had owned and ridden a Harley-Davidson, a Triumph, a Honda Gold Wing, and a Yamaha. He also enjoyed caring for his lawn, and particularly growing beautiful roses. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kenneth would be proud to know that following his passing he became an organ donor. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them throughout the years.
