Kenneth Sharp's Obituary
Laurence Kenneth Sharp, son of Clarence Henry and Grace Francis Blakeley Sharp, was born July 11, 1933, near Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, June 21, 2007, in his home, near Falcon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, eleven months, and ten days. On November 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to Audra Marie Hooper, and to this union two sons and one daughter were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Max Harold Sharp; and a sister, Marie Helen Boone. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Audra, of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Sharp, M.D., and his wife, Michelle, of Sedalia, Missouri, and Douglas Sharp, and his wife, Ruth, of Jesup, Georgia; a daughter, Rebecca Bond, and her husband, David, of Columbia, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Lauren, Cristian, Elena, Lydia, Emma, Lindsey, Kenneth and Amanda Sharp, Bryce and Brianne Bond; a sister, Lillian Marshall, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Lebanon community, and was graduated from Lebanon High School. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from June 24, 1953 until May 26, 1955, during the Korean War. After he and Audra were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their family. Kenneth was a skilled carpenter and builder for most of his life and constructed many homes and other buildings in Laclede County. His attention to detail and mastery of woodworking was well known and widely appreciated. He also operated a farm for several years where he raised cattle and horses. Kenneth was a longtime active member of Second Baptist Church in Lebanon, where he was a Deacon and attended the Men’s Sunday School Class. He served on the Gasconade C-4 School Board for sixteen years, and was always interested in the education of children. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also liked being outdoors and caring for his cattle and horses. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and all that he accomplished and will treasure the memories he made for his family and many friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2007, in the Second Baptist Church, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 4 - 5:30 p.m.under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to the Second Baptist Church may be made through the funeral home.
