Kenneth Sparbel (Hartville)'s Obituary
Kenneth Lavern Sparbel Jr., son to Kenneth Sparbel Sr. and Wilma Coffman Hicks, was born July 9, 1962 in Muscatine Iowa. He departed this life March 1, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-four years, seven months, and twenty-one days.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Joyce Jean Elwood on July 10, 1982 and to this union three children were born. Kenneth and Joyce were married twenty-six years before Joyce passed away in 2009.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Joyce; his maternal grandparents, Plaz and Mae Coffman; and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Lavern Sparbel.
He is survived by his three daughters, April McLaren of Centerville, Iowa, Tamara Rimmer of Centerville, Iowa, and Kenzie Sparbel of Houston, Missouri; his mother, Wilma Hicks of Hartville, Missouri; three sisters, Rachel Kelley and her husband Michael of Norwood, Missouri, Bobbie McKee of Summersville, Missouri, and Marcy Massey of Mountain Grove, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Kenneth was born in Iowa, but while he was still young, his family moved to Manes, Missouri where he would be raised. Before graduating high school, the Sparbel family moved back to Iowa where Kenneth would eventually graduate. After Kenneth finished high school he became a private investigator for a short while before he took up a job at KFC as a cook. In the early 2000’s, Kenneth and Joyce moved back down to Missouri and settled in Mountain Grove where the couple would live out the rest of their happy lives together.
Kenneth was not much of a socializer, but he did love to fish. He spent countless hours on the river banks and out in a pond trying to catch the big one. Kenneth loved his family and spending time with them dearly. He was a loving husband, son, father, uncle, and brother. We celebrate his life and many accomplishments and will always cherish the many happy memories that he created.
