Kenny Mac Voris (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Kenny Mack Voris, 66, of Elkland, Missouri, died at 2:30 AM, February 6th in his home, after a
year long struggle with lung cancer.
Ken was born to Mose and Lillian Voris on February 14th 1948. Ken was saved as a
teenager and joined Halfway Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his
death.
After High School in Boliver, Ken attended Southwest Baptist University for a year and
then joined the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Michigan and then in Naples, Italy.
He returned to Michigan to marry and raise a family where he spent many years working
for the State of Michigan.
In 1995, he married Susan Lash and they moved back to a small farm in Dallas County.
Ken & Sue set up a fiber optic business called 1 st Choice Network Cabling, which Ken
retired from after about 5 years.
Ken & Sue enjoyed many interests together and with others in the community. Of these,
Ken probably enjoyed the Dallas County Sheriff's Posse the most. He was a member of
the Posse for 6 years, 3 of which he was Co-Captain. Along with the Posse, Ken was also
an active member of the NRA. He also enjoyed flea markets & swap meets, tractor
pulling, gun shows and hunting. In fact, he was able to complete his bucket list this last
summer by hunting prairie dogs in Kansas.
Ken is survived by his wife, Susan; his two daughters, Traci Voris and Kendra Mills and
husband, Jason; one son, Shaun Voris and his fiance' Kirsten; two step-daughters, Ali
Mazza and Tona Long and husband Paul; 5 step-grandchildren, Amanda, Isaac, Sarah,
Megan and Madison. He is also survived by a sister, Twyla Stewart, and a brother, Derrell
Voris and wife, Judy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a memorial set up in Kenny’s honor at the Great Southern Bank of Buffalo, P.O. Box 447 Buffalo, Missouri, 65622.
