Kevin Rudolph's Obituary
Kevin Lynn Rudolph, son of Gerald L. and Una Marie (Kasterke) Rudolph was born March 15, 1958 in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, August 14, 2010 in Cox Medical South in Springfield, Missouri at the age of fifty-two years, four months and thirty days.
On May 28, 1988 Kevin was united in marriage to Wanda Vose and they made their home in Diggins, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter and Vesta Rudolph and his maternal grandfather, Scott Kasterke. Kevin is survived by his wife, Wanda, of the home; three children, Christy O’Dell and her husband, Scott, of Republic, Missouri, Jeromy Rudolph, of Seymour, Missouri, and Shoji McGhee and his wife, Leigh-Ann, of Springfield, Missouri; four grandsons, Taylor, Trevor, Keegan, and Liam; his parents, Gerald and Una Marie Rudolph, of Seymour, Missouri; his maternal grandmother, Vesta Kasterke, of Seymour, Missouri; three sisters, Gena Cooper and her husband, Mike, of Seymour, Missouri, Kelly Kellum and her husband, Melvin, of Rogersville, Missouri, and Lessli Pruett and her husband, Paul of Seymour, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Josh, Zack, Whitney, Kaylee, Shane, Mike, and Mark; his parents-in-law, Stephen and Martha Vose, of Ethel, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
He grew up in the Diggins area of Webster County, Missouri and graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1976. He helped his dad on the farm and then with the Rudolph Auction Service, becoming a licensed auctioneer and later an appraiser and real estate agent, working with Century 21 Heritage Realty.
Kevin had accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was a member of James River Assembly Church in Ozark. He took part in the James River Prison Ministry and was a member of James River Assembly KIDS Security.
He had served for 13 years as a board member for the Seymour RII School District, was a board member of Webster County Hope, the Southern Webster County Fire Protection District, the Webster County 911 Board, Wheels for the World, Seymour Lions Club, a former board member of the Seymour YMCA and the Greater Seymour Area Foundation, and enjoyed working at the Seymour Apple Festival.
In his spare time he enjoyed taking care of the cattle on the farm and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved cooking and grilling out for the family on holidays and Sundays.
Kevin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, grandson, brother and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will remember all the special things he did for the Seymour community and Webster County. He will be forever loved by his family and everyone whose life he touched.
Services will be at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in the Seymour Church of the Nazarene, 354 N. Main St., Seymour, Mo., with visitation at 6:00 P.M. until service time in the church, and the Seymour Lions Club will conduct a Rose Ceremony at the beginning of services. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday (8/18/10) in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, w. of Diggins, Mo. on Normandy Road. Services and burial are under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Mo.
