Kevin Smith (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Kevin LeRoy Smith, two days short of his 61st birthday, died at the Barnes Jewish Hospital, in St. Louis Missouri on 25 November 2017. He was born on 27 November 1956 in Fort Carson, Colorado to Vernon D. and Rose Marlene (Worm) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother Rose Marlene Behrens of Alamo, Texas and a sister, Verna Joy Torres of Checotah, Oklahoma. Also surviving are nieces Alicia, Andrea, Maranda, Mariah and nephew, Jacob.
Kevin was raised in a military family. He lived many of his early years at various military posts in United States and Europe. Kevin attended Waynesville High School in Missouri and graduated from the University of Texas, Brownsville. The majority of Kevin’s career as a Cancer Radiologist was at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas. However, treatment for his own failing health brought Kevin back to his beloved Missouri where he was able to participate in the outdoor activities he enjoyed as a youth.
Kevin was a loving son, brother, uncle, and grandson and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered for his life and his accomplishments and greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Internment for Kevin Smith will be in the Mount Rose Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. A private service will be held at a later date.
