Larry Blankenship's Obituary
Larry Leon Blankenship, son of Ezra and Carrie Kincheloe Blankenship, was born March 1, 1945, near Competition, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, April 15, 2009, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, one month, and fourteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Dwayne, Darrell, Daris, and Bill Blankenship; and a sister, Berniece Duskin. Larry is survived by three daughters, Jessica Lynn Rector, and her husband, Dana, and Jennifer Charlton, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Cynthia Manly, of Conway, Missouri; two sons, Scott Blankenship, and his wife, Michele, and Tim Blankenship, and his wife, Angie, all of Lebanon, Missouri; ten grandchildren; a brother, Don Blankenship, and his wife, Doris, of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Lois Stroup, of Lebanon, Missouri, Nadine Wallace, of Springfield, Missouri, and Doris Hasselbacker, and her husband, Rick, of Marshfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Competition and Falcon, Missouri communities. He lived his adult years in Competition, Falcon and Lebanon. Larry worked in building construction for a number of years and did roofing and many other carpentry jobs. For the last several years, he had been employed as a road grader operator for the Lebanon Special Road District. Larry had attended Gardner Freewill Baptist Church, near Grovespring, Missouri. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering with old cars, hunting and fishing. He also liked gardening and enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and caring for his many flowers beds. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Larry was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he made for his family and many friends. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday April 18, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery. Visitation is Friday evening 7-8:30 pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.
