Larry Burgess (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Larry Wayne Burgess, son of Lawrence and Phyllis Mitchell Burgess, was born July 16, 1939, in Stoutland, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, March 12, 2018, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, seven months, and twenty-six days.
On November 16, 1963, he was united in marriage to Sharon Ulrich, and to this union one son was born.
His parents preceded him in death.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the home; a son, Randall Burgess, of Longmont, Colorado; a granddaughter, MacKenzie Renae Burgess, of Torrington, Wyoming; a brother, Stanley Burgess, and his wife, Anna, of Peyton, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Ulrich and Cherlyn Slawson, both of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Stoutland community and graduated from Lebanon High School. After he and Sharon were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their son. Larry transported boats for Appleby Boats for six years and for Bass Tracker for five years. During his years of driving, he enjoyed seeing forty-five of the fifty United States and Canada. He and Sharon did custom wallpapering for twenty years, retiring in 2005.
Larry had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and had a strong abiding faith in God.
In his spare time he enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching Billy Graham programs. He was a master woodworker and had made many wonderful creations. His family was very important to him and he liked visiting with his family and friends. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his seventy-eight years.
