Larry Coday's Obituary
Larry Joe Coday, son of Cecil Alford and Ella Florence (Marcum) Coday, was born May 19, 1940, near Hartville, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, October 21, 2006, near Hartville, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, five months, and two days. In 1960 he was united in marriage to Wilma Mae Jones, and to this union two children were born. On June 19, 1998 he was united in marriage to Debbie Marlene Delp and together they have spent the last eight years. His parents preceded him in death. Larry is survived by his wife, Debbie, of the home; a son, Bruce Coday, and his wife, Vicki, of Hartville, Missouri; a daughter, Loretta Pyatt, and her husband, Dean, of Hartville, Missouri; two step-sons, Charles Laird, and Brian Laird, both of Hartville, Missouri; two step-daughters, Mindy Laird, and Michelle Bass, both of Hartville, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frankey Lane Coday, of Cameron, Missouri, and Jerry Dean Coday, and his wife, Viola, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Barbara Kirby, and her husband, Paul, of Macomb, Mary Lee Hamrick, and her husband, John, and Betty Jane Adamson, and her husband, Jim, all of Hartville, Missouri; an aunt, Francis Dorris, of Wilder, Idaho; an uncle, Donald Ray Marcum, of Clinton, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Hartville and graduated from Hartville High School in the Class of 1958. He then entered the United States Army National Guard, where he served his country faithfully from June of 1959 to May of 1965. After being honorably discharged he returned to Hartville and was a lifelong resident. He drove a bus for Hartville Schools from 1976 to 2002, taking many children on field trips and to ballgames. Larry was a friend to everyone and was always willing to help anyone in need. Whether you wanted it or not, his advice was always free. In his spare time he enjoyed working on trucks, his old tractor, steam engine, and equipment. He also loved hunting and fishing. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.
