Larry Edward Thieman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Larry Edward Thieman, son of Lionel D. and Pauline E. Davis Thieman, was born December 28, 1941, in Denver, Colorado. He departed this life Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in his home, near Stoutland, Missouri, at the age of seventy years, three months, and nineteen days.
On August 15, 1964, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Bechtel, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
His parents preceded him in death.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Carol, of the home; a daughter, Vicky Thieman, of Stoutland, Missouri; a son, Steve Thieman, and his wife, Lisa, of Richland, Missouri; two grandsons, Zac and Jake Thieman; a brother, David Thieman, and his wife, Ruth, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born into a military family that traveled across the country, eventually making their home at Fort Hood, Texas for several years. After he and Carol were married, they soon made their home on their farm, in the Stoutland, Missouri area, and lovingly raised their children. Larry served his country faithfully in the United States Army National Guard for five years, being honorably discharged on October 19, 1969. In addition to operating a farm for many years, Larry worked as a truck driver for most of his life.
Larry made his profession of faith in Christ in 1979, and was an active member of Stoutland Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday school teacher for several years, and was always willing to help others.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting, fishing, and farming. He also enjoyed target practicing with his grandsons and had built model train sets for them. He possessed a calm demeanor and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that he will be fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him.
