Larry Griffy (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Larry K. Griffy passed away at the age of 87. He went peacefully in his sleep on Monday, October 26, 2025, at Colonial Springs Health Care Facility in Buffalo, Missouri. He was born to Helena Akins Griffy and Paul Griffy on June 28, 1938, in Effingham, Illinois. He had one brother, Edward Kent Griffy. He leaves to cherish his memories three children: Daniel K. Griffy (widowed) of Gilroy, California, Julie A. McAnnally and husband David of Ashville, Alabama, and Lisa K. Lynch and husband Dale of Mobile, Alabama. Although he did not get to meet many of his grandchildren, he was always sure to ask about them. He had eight grandchildren: Jeremy Griffy, Shaun Comtois, Erin DeFelippo, Colton DeFilippo, Heather McAnnally, Kaila Johnson, Kyle Griffy, and Jordan Griffy. Six great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and two precious friends, Adella Parker and Vernon Pinson. After Larry graduated from High School, he joined the United States Army and served two years. He worked various jobs before landing a job at Wallace Press in Clinton. He worked at Wallace Press until retirement. Throughout his 87 years, Larry lived in Clinton, Illinois, Decatur, Illinois, and Dewitt, Illinois, before settling in Buffalo, Missouri in 2006, where he resided until his passing. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and wife, Linda Griffy. Larry was enjoyed and loved by everyone he met. In accordance with his wishes, Larry will be cremated and them laid to rest by his father in Newton, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo, Missouri.
