Larry Gene Jones (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Larry G. Jones, son of Charles S. and Vivian Breedlove Jones, was born August 9, 1956 in Houston, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, August 16, 2015 in Cox Medical Center, South, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-nine years and eight days.
On January 10, 1978, Larry was united in marriage to Mary Ann Drott, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rickie Jones; a brother, Floyd Jones; and two sisters, Sue Fisher and Brenda Jones.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; a daughter, Shelly Hilton, of the State of Arkansas; a son, Bobby Jones, of Hartville, Missouri; two sisters, Linda Dowden and husband, Junior, of Falcon, Missouri, and Emily Hitchcock, of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Tamika, Isaiah, Heather, Nate, and Brionna; two brothers, Charles Jones, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Steven Jones, of the State of Virginia; a special friend, Terry Wynn; a number of nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
Larry was born in Houston and spent his younger years living in the Roby and Plato areas of Texas County. He worked throughout his life in various saw-mills including Green Mill and Independent Stave. He also spent time working for the Terry Wynn Fur Company in Hartville.
Larry was very outgoing and he never met a stranger. He was outspoken and steadfast in his convictions, and in his spare time, Larry enjoyed rifle and black powder hunting, fishing for bass and catfish, camping, and bow hunting.
Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
