Larry Morpeth's Obituary
Larry William Morpeth, son of Ray William and Margaret Emaline (Goodrich) Morpeth, was born July 1, 1940, in Twin Lakes, Michigan. He departed this life Monday, October 2, 2006, in Glenwood Healthcare, in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, three months, and one day. On March 7, 1980 he was united in marriage to Carla Ann Newsom and to this union one daughter was born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley; and a brother, David. Larry is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Carr, and her husband, Chad, of Lebanon, Missouri; one stepson, Allen Newsom, of Seymour, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Jeanetta Dobyns, of Penngrove, California, and Kristi Carver, and her husband, Steve, of Springfield, Missouri; three adopted children, Billy, Eddie, and Kathleen Morpeth; a good friend and Kimberly’s mother, Carla Morpeth, of Seymour, Missouri; four step-grandchildren, Lindsey Carr, of Springfield, Missouri, Katy Cornelison, Rachel Dobyns, and Derek Dobyns, all of Seymour, Missouri; two brothers, George Crowel, of Danville, Virginia, and Charles Morpeth, of the State of Michigan; three sisters, Marlene Whetstone, of Holland, Texas, Mary Morpeth, of the State of Texas, and Cecelia Morpeth, of the State of Michigan; a mother-in-law, Dorotha Newsom, of Seymour, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Ava, Missouri in 1976. Then in 1982 he moved to Seymour. He worked as a sewing machine mechanic at H.D. Lee, in Houston. Larry had attended Harmony Free Will Baptist Church near his home in Seymour. In his spare time he loved to drink coffee and visit with his friends at Wilda’s Café, and greatly enjoyed fishing. At Christmas time he always dressed up and played Santa Claus for different groups. Larry was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m.Thursday, October 5, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in the Day Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri. Memorial contributions to Day Chapel Cemetery, American Cancer Society and Community Hospices of Missouri amy be made through the funeral home.
