Larry Edwin Florea (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Larry Edwin Florea, age 70, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Monday evening, May 28, 2012 at his home in Bolivar after suffering a heart attack.
He was born October 6, 1941 in Hopkins, Missouri, the son of Orlin Elbert Florea and Margaret Dell (King) Florea.
Larry graduated from Hopkins High School. He then attended Northwest Missouri State University in Marysville, MO., he later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Management from University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. He went on to receive a Master’s Degree from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.
He met and married Vera Foster on June 23, 1968 in Lawrenceburg, Missouri.
Larry worked as a Park Ranger for the National Park Service in Oklahoma at Chickasaw, White Sands, Great Smokies and Zion National Parks for 17 years. He then went to Republic, Missouri and was a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 13 years prior to his retirement in 1998.
He was a member of the Ash Grove United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Ash Grove, MO. He was a member of the Starlight Debonair Ballroom Dance Club, the National Rifle Association and the Aircraft Owner and Pilots Association. His interests include ballroom dancing, hunting, western history, politics, physical fitness, flying single engine aircraft, hiking and spending time outdoors.
He is survived by his wife; Vera Florea of the home, two daughters; Erica Cox and her husband Grant of Halfway, MO., Stacy Grinsfelder and her husband Andy of Three Rivers, CA., four grandchildren; Airon, Soren, Spencer and Maya Grinsfelder of Three Rivers, CA., his mother; Margaret Florea of Hopkins, MO., his brother; Roger Florea and his wife Sue of Hopkins, MO., his sister; Paula Unsal and her husband Mehmet of Teaneck, NJ.
