Launah Annette Harris' Obituary
Launah Annetta Branstetter, was born on November 5, 1909 in rural Hartville, Missouri to Joseph and Bertha Gilbert Branstetter. She departed this life Monday, April 3, 2006, in the Hartville Care Center at the age of ninety-six years, four months, and twenty-eight days. She was united in marriage to Paul Harris on March 4, 1930. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1996. Others preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Raymond, Gordon, Albert, and Wilson Branstetter, son Charles, two grandsons, Randy and Michael Johnson. Survivors are children, Mary Lou and husband Lynn Johnson of Essex, Iowa; Bonnie and husband Kenneth Lantz of Camdenton, Missouri; Garry Harris and wife Vickie of Hartville, Missouri; Phillip Harris and wife Cathy of Moberly, Missouri; daughter-in-law Mary Blankenship Hutchinson of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; one brother Robert Branstetter and his wife Keeta, of Visalia, California; and many other relatives and friends. The Harris family lived in rural Pea Ridge community until 1960 when they moved to Mansfield. Launah was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Mansfield. In her younger years she was a very busy housewife raising her family, gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, and crocheting. In her senior years, she and Paul kept very busy traveling, visiting their children, playing cards with dear friends, activities at the Senior Citizens Center, delivering meals and just enjoying a very active life. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville. Burial will be in the new Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the New Hope Cemetery or Mansfield United Methodist Church and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
