Laura Snow's Obituary
Laura Elaine Snow, daughter of Gerhard F. and Anna L. Penner Epp, was born January 26, 1918, in Henderson, Nebraska. She departed this life Sunday, August 14, 2011, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-three years, six months, and eighteen days. On May 9, 1953, she was united in marriage to Ira Ansel Snow, and they shared forty-six years before his passing on May 10, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, George, Glen, and Allen Epp; and four sisters, Alma Friesen, Olga Richert, Edith Penrose, and Rachel Krebbs. Laura is survived by a brother, Telfer Epp, and his wife, Carol, of Aliso Viejo, California; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including her nephew, Allen Richert, and his wife, Linda, who were her special caregivers for several years; a stepson, Dale Snow, of Dallas, Texas; a cousin, Pete Epp, of Henderson, Nebraska; a special friend, George Wesley, of Camdenton, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born into a family of ten children and was raised in Henderson, Nebraska. She graduated from Henderson High School, and then attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. She took a course in photography in New York City, and then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she worked as a color artist for Rolland Studios for several years. After she and Ansel were married, they made their home in Kansas City, and Laura was a devoted homemaker to her husband. After Ansel retired from Kansas City Power and Light Company, they purchased a forty acre farm near Kansas City, in the Oak Grove area. They made their home on the farm until moving to Lebanon, Missouri, in 1988, to be near some of their families. Laura was very thankful to have been raised by Godly parents and grandparents, and accepted Christ as her Savior when she was a teenager. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon, where she was a part of the Fidelis Sunday School class with Violet Crowder as her beloved teacher. She enjoyed singing to and visiting the elderly along with her friend, George. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her nieces and nephews. Laura was a loving sister, aunt, and cousin, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
