Laura Mae Vanarsdall (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Laura Mae Vanarsdall was born December 7, 1944 in Lebanon, Missouri to John R. and Ora Mae Smith Hart. She passed away in her home in Marshfield, Missouri on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the age of eighty years, eight months and thirty days of age.
Laura was raised in Lebanon and attended Mill Creek School. She attended Lebanon High School and obtained her GED several years later.
On September 2, 1961 she was united in marriage to Jack Anthony Vanarsdall. Together they experienced the good and the challenging times in their sixty-four year marriage. After they were married, they moved to Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. When Jack completed his time in the service, they moved to Kirkwood, Missouri. Laura was grateful to be able to stay home and raise their children. Later they moved to Springfield, Missouri where Laura entered the workforce, managing several Dollar Stores.
Laura was baptized later in life at Temple Baptist Church. She loved God and enjoyed reading her Bible.
In her spare time, Laura enjoyed sewing, made beautiful quilts, collecting dolls, cooking and baking. She was very fond of her pets and loved being around her grandchildren.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ora Hart.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack of the home; two daughters, Monique Ballard of Owasso, Oklahoma and Angela Schmidt and her husband Gregg of House Springs, Missouri; her son, Gerald Vanarsdall and his wife Carol of Springfield, Missouri; her grandchildren, Jeremiah Vanarsdall of Springfield, Missouri, Amanda Myrie and her husband Antonio of Owasso, Oklahoma, Rachel Baranak of Palm Bay, Florida; Taylor Hart and her husband Ryan of Cedar Hill, Missouri, John Meglio of Bremerton, Washington, Dustin Agee and his wife Sabrina of Bolivar, Missouri, Anthony Vanarsdall and his wife Kim of New Braunfels, Texas, and Ranie Vanarsdall of Austin, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Tiana and Alana Galbreath, Laura Baranak and Devanni Myrie; her brother, Charles Leon Hart and his wife Carol of Springfield, Missouri; and many other family members and friends.
Laura was known for her kindness and generosity. She was hard working and always supportive of her family and loved ones and was present in their lives in a meaningful way. She was known for hosting wonderful get-togethers and family holiday celebrations. Most of all, Laura enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, delighting in their daily lives and accomplishments. She lived a good life and will be dearly missed.
Service for Laura Mae Vanarsdall will be Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 7 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be Friday morning, September 12, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Lebanon Cemetery.
A memorial to the Gideon's has been established and donations may be left a the funeral home.
