I wanted to take a moment to share some fond memories of Laurie, as I’ve often thought about her over the years.
I had the privilege of working alongside Laurie for 15 years at the State Board of Equalization in San Diego. During that time, she consistently impressed me with her professionalism and intelligence. Laurie was always a steady presence in the office, handling even the most complex situations with grace and expertise.
What stood out the most, however, was her devotion to her daughter, Heather. Laurie was a doting mother, always proud of Heather and dedicated to supporting her. It was clear that family was everything to Laurie, and her love for Heather shone through in all that she did.
Although we lost touch after our time at the Board, the memories of working with Laurie have stayed with me. I continue to be grateful for having had the chance to know her, and I wanted to share this with you as a reminder of the positive impact she had on those around her.
