Lavada was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and moved with her family to Mountain Grove at an early age. She attended Mountain Grove High School and was a graduate in the Class of 1976.
While living in Mountain Grove, Lavada met and married Douglas and together they made their home in Mansfield, Missouri. She was a devoted homemaker to her family and worked hard to support Douglas in his operation of the family car business. In 1990, Douglas and Lavada moved to Grapevine, Texas, where they extended the operation of the car business. She fell in love with the Texas way of life and Grapevine became a very special place to her. Lavada and Douglas moved back to Springfield in 2001 to make their home.
She had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized into the Freewill Baptist Church.
Lavada was considered the ?rock? of her family and cherished the time spent with them, especially Dale and Johnathan. She held a special place in her heart for children with special needs and was always willing to help those in need.
She was a people person who never met a stranger and took great pleasure working for the Deli in Wal-Mart where she met new friends everyday.
Lavada had a fondness for her dogs, Boris and Jessie, as well as the ocean and the many lighthouses she saw in her travels.
Lavada was a loving and devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother and sister, as well as a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
