Laveeta C. Mizer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Laveeta C. Mizer, daughter of Dow and Dora Warren Morehouse, was born September 6, 1940, near Falcon, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, April 17, 2015, at her home in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, seven months and eleven days.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tim Mizer; her parents, Dow and Dora Morehouse; a sister, Virginia Lou Morehouse; a sister-in-law, Gaylene Morehouse; and a very special grandson, Riley Gerber.
Laveeta is survived by a son, Bobby Joe Peterson, and his wife, Jacque, of Marshfield, Missouri; two daughters, Donna Baker, and her husband, Bryan of Lebanon, Missouri, and Dora Vandergrift, and her husband, Stanley, of Paragould, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Amy Jo Peterson, and her significant other, Joseph Scarantino, of Lebanon, Illinois, Jason Vandergrift, of the State of Arkansas, Joseph Vandergrift, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Derrick Peterson, and his wife, Crystal, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Sam Peterson, of Lebanon, Missouri, Wesley Yonts, and his wife, Christy, of Lebanon, Missouri, Kenneth Peterson, and his significant other, Laura, of Marshfield, Missouri, Jeffrey Peterson, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Cole Baker, of Lebanon, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren, Joseph Timothy “J.T.”, Makenzie, Zackary, Addison, Breken, Kimber, Ezra, Kirra, and Dayton; a brother, Kenneth Morehouse, of Richland, Missouri; two sisters, June Lewis, and her husband, Vincie, of Falcon, Missouri, and Dotty Berry, of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; her extended family, Charley Massey, and his wife, Mary, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Terry Mizer, and wife, Sheila, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Laveeta was born near Falcon, Missouri, and lived most of her life in the Lebanon area. She worked at H.D. Lee and several local motels and then retired from Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri, in 2010.
She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Her hobbies included quilting, making curtains for family and friends, and sharing her wonderful sense of humor. She always said, “You’ve got to have a plan”.
Laveeta was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
