LaVerne Elizabeth Brunett (Camdenton)'s Obituary
LaVerne Elizabeth Brunett of Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 in Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born August 30, 1916 in Batson, Texas to Edwin and Laura (Spitz) Tucker.
She was a 1934 graduate of Dixon High School, Dixon, Illinois. She married Howard Emerson Rorer February 16, 1938 in Dixon, Illinois and to this union was born one daughter and one son. This marriage was dissolved. LaVerne married George Brunett on November 12, 1954 in Debuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death December 22, 1973. She worked at the Rainbow Inn and U.S.F.& G. She retired from there after 25 years. She moved to Osage Beach, Missouri in 1976. While there she served as a Pink Lady at Lake Regional Hospital. She also worked in the office of the hospital until ill health forced her to retire again in 1992.
LaVerne enjoyed reading, doing hand crafts, cooking and entertaining her friends. She also enjoyed playing bridge and pinocle with them.
She was a lifetime member of Lake Regional Hospital Auxiliary and Harper Chapel Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Richard Rorer of Ft. Worth, Texas; one step-son, Jack Brunett of Dixon, Illinois; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one niece, Vicki Watkins, Jerseyville, Illinois; one nephew, Jeffrey Tucker, Henley, Missouri, nine other nieces and nephews and ten great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; a daughter, Nancy Sheely; a step-son, Dick Brunett; two brothers, Romaine Tucker and Quentin Tucker; one nephew, Michael Tucker; and one step-grandson, Zachary Brunett.
