Lawrence Ahart's Obituary
Lawrence William Ahart, age 86, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2011 in his home at Butterfield Residential Care Facility in Bolivar after a sudden heart attack.
He was born March 12, 1925 in Gerster, Missouri to Thomas Harry Ahart and Martha Frances (Todd) Ahart.
Lawrence was a truck driver for MFA and a lifelong farmer. He served in the United States Army during WW II and the Korean Conflict.
Lawrence is survived by his wife; Marilyn M. Ahart of the home, four daughters; Sherryl Chayer and her husband Glenn of Springfield, Missouri, Carol J. Covert of Springfield, Missouri, Alecia Latz and her husband Bill of Springfield, Missouri, Laura Eckles of Columbia, Missouri, three sisters; Willa Manes of Bolivar, Missouri, Frances Thomason of Bolivar, Missouri, Juanita Gaddy and her husband Verl of Bolivar, Missouri, 6 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Dan Adkison officiating. Musical selections will be "Nearer My God To Thee" by Anne Murray, "How Great Thou Art" by Lee Greenwood and "Peace In The Valley" by Red Foley. A video presentation will be played with the song "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill. Burial will follow at Barren Creek Cemetery just West of Bolivar. Full Military Honors will be provided by AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jerry Wells, Darrell Walker, Wayne Covert, Cody Stutenkemper, Mark Chayer, Kendall Eckles, Thomas Eckles. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Mincks, Kenny Mincks, Paul Mincks, Layman Cansler and Kenneth Cansler.
