Lawrence H. Thornbrue (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Lawrence "Larry" Henry Thornbrue, 57, left his earthly body to enter his eternal heavenly home on July 10, 2017. He was born to the late Robert John Thornbrue and Jackie (Jackson) Thornbrue Ellis on June 8, 1957, in Kansas City, Kansas. His family later moved to Trenton, Missouri.
After graduating from Princeton High School in 1975, and after going to a local community college for a year, he enlisted in the Navy on July 29, 1976, and was a medic/corpsman until he was discharged in January of 1987. Larry loved his time in the military and was a proud patriot. During his time in the Navy he met and married Cindy Imhoff and they went on to have two daughters and a son.
They later divorced and Larry left Virginia coming back to Missouri where he met Barbara Cooley. Although they never married, they lived as husband and wife. They had an official "in the eyes of God" wedding a few months before her death. He stood in as a step-father to her children until the end.
Larry was a hard worker and devoted to his family. He was an extreme Kansas City Chiefs fan and a KC Royals fan. He enjoyed fishing when he could and was a devoted Fox News watcher. He was a very stubborn opinionated man but that didn't stop him from being well loved by everyone.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John Thornbrue; his sister, Rebecca Thornbrue Griffin; and his "wife" Barbara Cooley. He is survived by his children, Vanessa (Matt) Gray, Joshua (Stacey) Thornbrue and Jessica Thornbrue of Virginia; his step-children, April (Gary) Raine, Joshua (Ghesika) Cooley and Stephanie (Jason) Wallace, all of Buffalo, Missouri; his 16 grandchildren, Ethan, Kaleb, Kallie, Haley, Aiden, Katarina, Erika, Derrick, Aiden, Avery, Addy Mae, Savannah, Jaylyn, Taylor, Robyn and Serenity; and a great granddaughter, AnnaBella. He also leaves behind many friends and family who will all truly miss him.
