Le Roy Dean Nocks (Hartville)'s Obituary
.LeRoy Dean Nocks, born December 26, 1936 passed away May 29, 2014 near Hartville, Mo. LeRoy Nocks and Louise Davies, high school sweethearts, were married July 21, 1956. They were married nearly 58 years. He served 20 years in the Army National Guard and Air Force where he became a second Lieutenant. LeRoy retired from AT&T management after more than 30 years. Then he owned and operated Cider Keg Orchard and Antique business near Holden, MO until he sold the company in 2007. Then he and his wife moved to Morrisville, Mo and lived there for 4 ½ before becoming ill and moving to Hartville in 2011 to be near their son and family.
LeRoy greatly enjoyed bluegrass and southern gospel music, and playing his guitar and singing with his fellow musician friends. He was a master of tinkering and making something unique and useful from nothing. And Cider Keg Antique and Auction was the perfect location for that. He enjoyed going to auctions and his unique sense of humor made him quite entertaining as a ring man at the CKO.
LeRoy and Louise enjoyed several years of traveling throughout the United States. Some of their favorite places were Hawaii, Florida, Texas, and Arizona, which included the memorable ride on the itty-bitty- donkey down the Grand Canyon.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Louise; son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Diane; grandson, Kevin and his wife, Carissa; granddaughter, Savanna and her husband Andrew, and granddaughter, Melissa and her husband Devin; two great-grandsons Austin and Ethan Nocks; two great-granddaughters, Madeline Nocks and Emalyn Price. He is also survived by a sister, Donna Sue of Olathe, KS.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two younger brothers.
LeRoy was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
