Leaton Ruble's Obituary
Leaton Jerome Ruble, son of Lannie Joseph and Ruth Velma Myers Ruble, was born October 15, 1942, near Brownfield, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, December 14, 2010, in his home, in Phillipsburg, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years, one month, and twenty-nine days. On June 23, 1967, he was united in marriage to Susan J. Pace, and they shared the last forty-three years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lotus Ruble; two sisters, La Don J. Ruble, and Lenora J. Pfeifle; and a brother-in-law, Teddy Pace. Leaton is survived by his wife, Susan, of the home; a son, LanDen Ruble, and his wife, Shellie, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Lynette Rogers, and her husband, Larry, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Summer Bashant, Justice Davis, Shelby Rogers, and Lexen Ruble; two great-grandchildren, Kailey and Kyler Bashant; two brothers, Leo Ruble, and his wife, Mary, of Falcon, Missouri, and Leaun Ruble, and his wife, Wilma, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Leota Pace, of Lebanon, Missouri, and LeEtta Williams, and her husband, Burvel, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Asako Ruble, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Brownfield community and attended Lebanon R-III Schools. He then served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he returned to the Lebanon area and he and Susan made their home. Leaton worked as a welder for several years, and then began restoring antique furniture with his brother. Leaton attended the Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church during his younger years, and followed the Baptist faith throughout his life. He liked antiques and particularly collecting coffee cans and ashtrays. He bore his illness with great dignity and fortitude and greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Leaton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
