Lee Kelsay's Obituary
George Lee Kelsay, son of Alexander James and Vina Georgia (Wynn) Kelsay, was born April 9, 1921, near Hartville, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in Hartville Care Center, in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, two months, and three days. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Nettie and Ollie McDaris, Mae Brownfield, Bessie and Fae Kelsay; and six brothers, Omer, Laudy, John, Everett, Dee, and Ivan Kelsay. Lee is survived by a sister-in-law, Jessie Kelsay, of Hartville, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born in the Coon Creek community where he resided his entire life except for the short time he lived in Hartville. In 1965 he went to live with Grace and Ivan and was like a brother to their children. Lee had made his profession of faith in Christ and attended the Hilltop Church. His family was very important to him and one of his favorite things to do was visiting with them and eating cherry chocolates. He was a hard worker with a sharp memory and enjoyed helping Ivan in the field and going to the sale barn. He will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007, in the Coon Creek Church, North of Hartville. Burial will be in the Coon Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.
