Lee E. Wakefield (Hartville)'s Obituary
Lee Ernest Wakefield, son of Jacob Amos and Orpha Wakefield was born April 30, 1918, in Hartville, Missouri. He went to be with his Lord and Savior, February 7, 2015, in the home of his daughter, in Rogers, Arkansas.
Lee was united in marriage to Missouri Ann Carter June 29, 1941. Missouri preceded him in death on January 28, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, and one son in law, Randy Williams.
He is survived by his two daughters, Judy Williams, of Springfield, Missouri, Vicki Belcher (Harold) of Rogers, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Scott Andrews (Alisa) of Rogers, Arkansas, Jennifer Gruener (Tony) of Rogersville, Missouri, and Jana Worth of Springfield, Missouri; 10 great grandchildren, Alex, Carter, Jacob and Lily Andrews, Evan, Shane and Ryan Gruener and Ashton, Autumn and Kaylan Worth; one sister, Jean Nickle of Springfield, Missouri, one sister in law, Helen Wakefield of Hartville, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Lee was honorably discharged from the US Army after serving in World War II, stationed in Germany. After returning from the service, he farmed in Hartville, Missouri until he went to work for the U. S. Postal Service in 1957. He retired at the young age of 55 to enjoy gardening, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Lee was a longtime member of South Haven Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, and father, a friend to all who met him.
