Lee Wood (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Lee Wayne Wood, son of Leo and Faye Maxine Davis Wood, was born October 14, 1941, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in Select Specialty Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, five months, and twelve days.
On June 19, 1966, he was united in marriage to Ollive Lezebeth “Susie” Decker, and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Justin.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Ollive “Susie”, of the home; two daughters, Deanna Caudle, and Frank Weaver, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Stephanie Holloway, and her husband, Robert, of Bucyrus, Missouri; a son, Paul Wood, of the home; three grandchildren, Frankie, Kapresha, and Ty; a great-grandchild, Gauge; a brother, David Wood, and his wife, Ethel, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Karen Riggle, of the State of Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Abo community, and attended Rippy School. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army for a few years, and then returned to the Lebanon area. After he and Ollive were married, they made their home in Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family. Throughout the years, Lee worked as a truck driver and was employed by Appleby Boats, Lowe Boats, and Genmar Boats. He had also driven for Mid-America Dairy at one time. He served as an officer with the Lebanon Police Department for a few years.
Lee was a Christian and had established his own personal relationship with his Lord and Savior.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and watching baseball, particularly his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. He liked reading Louis L’Amour novels, and playing card games, especially solitaire. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his friends who had a healthy respect for him and his family.
Lee was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
