Lela M. Stewart (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Lela M. Stewart, age 89, of Nixa, Missouri departed this life on Wednesday morning, May 5, 2010 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born on August 21, 1920 in Flemington, Missouri the daughter of Clifford Aspey and Maude E. (Vest) Aspey.
She was married on March 19, 1938 to Bertram Porter Stewart at the home of Gene Brown in Halfway. After their marriage they moved to St. Louis where they resided until 2005. Bert preceded her in death on August 30, 2007.
Lela is survived by her sister, Opal Aspey of Bolivar, Missouri, a niece, Phyllis Roark and her husband Jerry of Rogersville, Missouri, who lovingly cared for Lela in the last years of her life, for which her remaining family is grateful. Nieces and nephews include, Glen Aspey of Kansas City, Missouri, Clifford Aspey of Elkton, Missouri, Richard and Marilyn Aspey of Grandview, Missouri, Norma Evans Pynaker and her husband Cornelis of West Covina, California, Bill Hawes of Dallas, Texas, Mary and George Phillips of Bay Point, California, Peggy Haws of Peoria, Arizona, Bob Hawes of El Monte, California, Ron and Barbara Aspey of El Centro, California, Don and Penny Aspey of Fort Bragg, California.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Reed Cemetery south of Halfway, Missouri with Bro. John Brown officiating under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. A viewing will be from 8:00am-1:00pm, Friday at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri.
