Lella Hufft (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Lella Mae Hufft was born April 26, 1935 in Niangua, Missouri to Anson and Opal H. Lowery Buttram. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 in Lebanon, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years, four months and twenty-three days.
Lella spent her early years in the Grovespring, Missouri area before moving to Lebanon. On February 13, 1954, she was united in marriage to Willard E. Hufft. They celebrated over forty-three years of wonderful memories before he passed away April 15, 1997.
In addition to her parents, Anson and Opal, and her loving husband, Willard, Lella was preceded in death by her brothers, Darrell, Gene, Darris, Wayne and Otis Buttram; and a sister, Wilma Duncan.
Family was the cornerstone of Lella’s world. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Hufft Overfelt and her husband Gregory of Blue Springs, Missouri and Becky Burk and her husband Ken of Lebanon, Missouri; her sister, Fay Ruble and her husband Stanley of Lebanon, Missouri; two grandsons, Jamie Smith and his wife Debra and Tyler Burk; one great-grandson, Grayson Smith; a special friend, Bud Vaughn; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to being a homemaker, Lella also was the bookkeeper for her husband’s auto sales business, Laclede Auto Sales, a position she held for twenty-nine years.
Earlier in her life, Lella enjoyed going to Branson and attending many of the fantastic shows that are performed there. She and Willard would also enjoy going to stock car races, as well as volunteering at their church, Heritage Baptist.
Lella was a meticulous house keeper and was delighted to have friends and family over to entertain in her home.
Throughout her life, Lella was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, embodying the roles of a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was the haven of warmth, love and laughter, where countless memories were created and treasured. She will certainly be missed by those who knew and loved her.
