Leo Archer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Leo Alfred Archer, son of Daniel Alfred and Annie Ollie Knight Archer, was born January 25, 1922, near Stoutland, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, December 8, 2012, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety years, ten months, and thirteen days.
On May 11, 1946, he was united in marriage to Mildred Arlene Carver, and to this union three daughters and five sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred, on November 4, 2000; a daughter, Frieda Arlene Archer; two sons, Leo Alfred Archer, Jr., and Robert Lewis Archer; a great-grandson, Bryton Leo Archer; two brothers, Howard Francis and William Raymond Archer; and two sisters, Georgia Myrtle Archer, and Mona Catherine Montgomery.
Leo is survived by two daughters, Norma Blackmon, and her husband, Roy, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Margaret Moore, and her husband, Orville, of Nampa, Idaho; three sons, William H. Archer, and Paul D. Archer, both of Grovespring, Missouri, and Norman L. Archer, and his wife, Teressa, of Lebanon, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Stoutland community and attended Stoutland Schools. He then moved to Idaho and attended Boise State University where he earned a degree in welding. He then worked as a welder and also at an Atomic Plant for several years. He and Mildred made their home in Idaho and lovingly raised their family. Many years later, he and Mildred moved back to Stoutland and enjoyed their retirement years. Leo was the Mayor of the City of Stoutland for several years.
Leo had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Stoutland Christian Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing, hunting, and working in his garden. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed all of his grandchildren.
Leo was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them throughout the years.
