Leo (Jack) Milford's Obituary
Jack Milford, son of Leo Odd and Vina Davis Milford, was born February 25, 1923, in Plattsburg, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, January 2, 2006, in his home, in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, ten months, and seven days. On August 8, 1948, he was united in marriage to Martha McFeeters, and to this union four sons and three daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; a grandson, two brothers; and two sisters. Jack is survived by his wife, Martha, of the home; three sons, Eldon Milford, and his wife, Lynette, of Lebanon, Missouri, Thomas Milford and his wife, Rena, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Johnny Milford, of Marshfield, Missouri; three daughters, Jackie Young, and her husband, JC, of Marshfield, Missouri, Mary Clair, and her husband, Joe, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Linda Gates, of Springfield, Missouri; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlie Stewart, of Leavenworth, Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born in Plattsburg and raised in California. He joined the Navy in 1941 and later moved back to Missouri where he worked as a farmer and was employed at Dayco for ten years. Jack was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Clarence King Post #128. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, making wooden toys, and loved raising rabbits and beagles. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Mansfield. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 5, 2005 from 12:00 p.m.(noon) - until 1:00p.m. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.
