Leon Angelo Riccardi (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Leon Angelo Riccardi, age 66, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Wednesday morning, September 15, 2010 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 7, 1944 in West Plains, Missouri to Angelo Riccardi and Okemah (Duke) Walters.
He married Florence C. Rouggley on June 17, 1989 in St. Charles, Missouri.
Leon worked for Leonard’s Metals in St. Charles, Missouri which manufactured Airplane Parts, working there for over 20 years before his retirement in June 2009. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy, and was a current member and Past Master of the George Washington Masonic Lodge #9 in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Darrell Riccardi earlier this year.
Leon is survived by his wife, of over 21 years, Florence Cynthia Riccardi of the home, his grandson, Marco Brian Riccardi of Germany, a stepson, Gregory Norris of St. Louis, Missouri and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Clifford Hutchins officiating. Musical selections will be “In The Sweet By And By”, “Amazing Grace” and the “Battle Hymn Of The Republic”. Burial will follow at Slagle Cemetery just South of Bolivar with Military Honors Provided by the United States Naval Reserves and the Fifth District Honor Guard of the American Veterans at AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Dennis Howard and the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am, Monday just prior to service time at the Butler Funeral Home with a Masonic Lodge service to begin at 10:40am.
